Noises Off is a three-act meta-theatrical farce by Michael Frayn about a chaotic theatre troupe's disastrous production of a terrible comedy called "Nothing On", showing the final dress rehearsal, a matinee performance from backstage, and the final disastrous show, all filled with collapsing sets, misplaced props, forgotten lines, and exploding personal relationships. The humor stems from the escalating backstage chaos and interpersonal drama between the hapless actors, director Lloyd Dallas, and crew, which completely unravels the already dreadful play-within-a-play.
