Ridley High School will administer the Pennsylvania Keystone Exams this January for students enrolled in Algebra I, Biology, and Literature courses. The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments required by the state to measure student proficiency in core academic areas based on Pennsylvania’s academic standards.
The testing schedule is as follows:
Date | Keystone Exam |
|---|---|
January 6, 2026 | Algebra I |
January 8, 2026 | Biology |
January 12, 2026 | Literature |
Students take Keystone Exams near the completion of the related course. Scores are used for graduation requirements, student accountability, and school performance measures. Beginning with the class of 2022–2023 and beyond, students must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra I, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams to graduate or meet an approved alternate pathway.
Each exam includes two modules and typically takes two to three hours to complete. There is no time limit, and exams may be administered online or on paper, depending on district scheduling. Makeup tests will also be provided for students who are absent on testing days.
Ridley High School will ensure that students have opportunities to prepare before testing begins. The Pennsylvania Online Assessment System offers tutorials and practice tools for students to explore the format of online testing, interact with equation builders, graph functions, and practice technology-based responses.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to remind students to get a good night’s sleep, arrive on time, and bring their school-issued devices fully charged (if testing online).
