Parents and guardians in the Ridley School District community are invited to attend an upcoming virtual training focused on helping families navigate the digital world and keep students safe online.
The Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) Teaching and Learning team will host “Online Safety for Students,” a parent training session on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom. The session will be presented by Detective Joe Walsh of the Aston Township Police Department, who will share insights into the online environments many children interact with daily.
During the training, parents will learn about common online platforms and activities used by students, including social media and online gaming. The session will also address important topics such as cyberbullying, digital privacy, and strategies families can use to support safe and responsible technology use at home. The goal of the training is to provide parents with practical tips and tools to better understand their children’s online experiences while promoting healthy technology habits.
Families interested in attending are asked to register by March 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. After registering, participants will receive the Zoom link the day before the session.
This workshop is designed specifically for parents and guardians.
